Weight fluctuations, aging, or your heredity could have given you flat or small buttocks. You may feel less attractive and dislike your figure – but you can enhance it with a Brazilian butt lift. A Brazilian butt lift (BBL) is an increasingly popular procedure for improving butt appearance by transferring natural fat to sculpt your rear rather than placing butt implants.
What is the surgery?
A Brazilian butt lift procedure is typically an outpatient procedure that is performed at Dr. Balinger’s in-office operating room or an accredited surgical facility. Our anesthesiologist will administer either general anesthesia or intravenous sedation in order to ensure your comfort and safety throughout the treatment. Tiny incisions will then be created in the donor areas (abdomen, hips, thighs, lower back, etc.).
Gentle liposuction is performed to harvest fat cells from the donor area. The surgeon will then process the harvested fat for transfer to the buttocks. Injecting the fat into the right points in the buttock is an intricate process that requires the skills of a seasoned surgeon. About 25 percent of the transferred fat is reabsorbed by the body, so some overfilling is necessary. The entire procedure takes between two and four hours to complete.
