Many of our loyal patients rely on regular SkinPen microneedling treatments to outsmart nature and keep their skin looking fresh and youthful for the long term. The treatment is fast, reasonably easy to experience, and produces visible skin-firming, lifting results.

Getting ready

Before your appointment, we urge you to stop taking any blood-thinning medications or supplements. The types of medications to avoid include Aleve, aspirin, ibuprofen, ginkgo, vitamin E, and prescribed blood thinners. Speak to your prescribing doctor if you take blood-thinning medications to ensure you can safely stop for one week before your treatment.

The SkinPen microneedling experience

Before your treatment, your skin is numbed with a topical cream or gel to make the experience more comfortable. Once numbed, the device is applied to your skin to create the microchannels, focusing on areas that may need more attention, such as smile lines, acne-scarred areas, wrinkles, crepey skin, or sagging. You will feel the device as it creates the collagen-inducing channels, but most patients find it reasonably easy to experience.

After your treatment is complete, a serum will be applied to soothe your skin, and you are free to return to your usual activities. Your skin may appear slightly reddened, with pinpoint bleeding, but little else. For best results, we advise four to six microneedling sessions about one month apart.
