Reshaping and Revitalizing Your Figure

The condition of your breasts can change over time and may be affected by gravity, loss of skin elasticity, or the weight of larger breasts. A breast lift is a custom surgery that reshapes the breast mound to be firm and rounded, can relocate the nipple structure to be centered and balanced (or reduce nipple size), and remove any excess skin causing the breasts to sit lower on the chest wall.

Achieving Your Vision of Beauty is Our Primary Goal

Dr. Christopher Balinger has garnered a reputation as one of the most talented plastic surgeons practicing in the Houston area. His approach to this surgery is delicate, meticulous, and involves the use of the most advanced techniques for breast lifting and reshaping. He and his warm, friendly staff work with each person to ensure they are thrilled with the final results of a custom breast lift. Every effort is made to minimize scarring, and any surgical incisions will be invisible in a bikini or bra.

Breast Lift Surgery - is it Your Time?

You are a unique individual in every way, and your vision for your body is yours alone. If you believe it is time to restore your breasts, you have that right, and Dr. Balinger is here to help. To be a safe candidate for this custom surgery:

  • You are in a good overall state of health and safe to undergo surgery
  • You feel it is time to restore your breasts to a more perky, rounded look
  • You feel your nipples should be centered on your breast rather than pointing downward
  • You want to reduce the size of your nipples
  • You understand what a breast lift entails and have realistic expectations
  • You feel ready to enhance your figure, as is your choice

To make an educated decision, you schedule a consultation with Dr. Balinger to discuss the details. Every woman is unique, and some may choose to undergo a breast lift with augmentation, while others just want to lift and reshape the existing breast tissue. Any cosmetic breast surgery should be based on your own wishes, not the urging of anyone else – it is your body.

The Breast Lift Procedure, Step by Step

Breast lift surgery is typically an outpatient procedure that will require several hours to complete. It is a customized treatment, and every woman has unique dreams and desires. You will be under anesthesia during the surgery and will not remember the actual procedure or experience any pain.

A board-certified anesthesiologist assists all procedures requiring anesthesia. The surgical technique used will vary, patient to patient. Some women may achieve their personal goals with an incision around the areola, while others may need what is termed a “lollipop” approach, with an incision around the areola and vertically down the lower center breast. For a more comprehensive lift, which may be needed in some cases, the “anchor” incision pattern is appropriate – around the areola, down the lower portion of the center breast, and within the breast crease. No matter which approach is needed, the scars will not be visible once healed, hidden even in a revealing bikini or bra. Once complete, you will be released to go home, under the care of another adult, where you can rest and heal.

Time to Recover and Watch the Magic Happen

After you are released to return home, you will want to take the time to rest and recover to allow the tissues to settle into place. Take gentle walks as often as possible, and ensure you take all prescriptions as directed. You will need to sleep on your back, with your head elevated, and avoid putting any pressure or stress on your healing incisions. It is normal to expect some bruising and swelling in the first phase of healing.

You will be restricted from any vigorous exercise or other activities for several weeks, typically up to six. You can help speed your recovery by avoiding alcohol, eating healthy food, staying hydrated, and attending all of the follow-up appointments with Dr. Balinger. We are always available to you and will be carefully monitoring your recovery in the days and weeks ahead.

Breast Lift FAQ's

Can I combine a breast lift with other procedures, such as breast augmentation or reduction?

Yes, it's possible to combine a breast lift with other breast enhancement procedures like breast augmentation or reduction. Your surgeon can help you determine if these combined procedures are suitable for your goals. Combining procedures can provide a comprehensive solution to address size, shape, and sagging issues, but it's essential to discuss the pros and cons during your consultation.

How long do the results of a breast lift last, and will I need future surgeries?

The results of a breast lift can be long-lasting, but the effects of aging and gravity may cause some degree of natural breast sagging over time. The need for future surgeries varies from person to person. Maintaining a stable weight and avoiding significant weight fluctuations can help prolong the results. During your consultation, your surgeon can provide more personalized information about the longevity of your breast lift results.
